Everyday Basics vs Fashion Bras

Hello Everyone,

I'd like to start a discussion this month as we approach our next tradeshow Curves Expo.  The topic in question is what do you wear - Everyday Basics or Fashion Bras?

I bring this up because I'm not sure if most people are aware that the intimate apparel industry is driven by fashion trends much in the same way the regular clothing industry is.  There is a seasonality to the fabrics and styles.  Trends come and trends go.  Hard to believe isn't it.  After all, it's just a bra, right?  Well, without boring you with all the industry jargon and designer blah-blah-blah, let's just say, there's a lot of thought in what goes on that underwire you wear and what we bring you on our site.

With that in mind, we'd like to hear from you.  I ask you that because I believe curvy girls are different than other fashion groups.  We have had a different shopping experience than those 36C's who can get something anywhere at any sale price in any color at any time.  For the most part, many of us have felt marginalized in the industry for our whole lives.  Finding one bra that was in our size was like looking for a four leaf clover in the desert.

So, I am wondering if these experiences have influenced how we shop for our bras.  Are we more attached to our everyday basics - those favorites that we can always count on to fit just right?  Or are we more inspired by something that is fashionable and trendy, having been denied it for so long?

I'm a 32GG.  I know how I feel.  As I shared on our Facebook page, I like a bra that fits like a basic and has the fun and color choices of a fashion.  I want that comfort most days.  On occasion I like to kick it up with my frilly girly stuff.  I'm too curvy and have struggled with too many ill fitted bras to give up comfort.

So, let us know what you think.  We'd love to hear from you.  It will certainly help us ensure that we bring you more of what you expect to see from Pink Fox in the future.

Yours Truly,

Cori Beckett

Eucalan to the Rescue

Hi Fans,

I wanted to share a story with you about Eucalan.  While it’s not directly about bras, I still think it’s relevant to our topic this month about bra care.  I shared with our fans on our Facebook fan page how important it is to have a quality bra care wash to extend the life of your bras.  You are welcome to check out the discussion at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Riverside-CA/Pink-Fox-Lingerie/111625458868203?v=app_2373072738.  This might help with some background about how a high quality was can help to extend the life of your bras.

I am an advocate for Eucalan for about a year now.  I use it to wash all my bras & undergarments.  Plus I love the smell.  Anyway, last weekend, while I was making my bed I noticed a huge red crayon mark across my brand new ivory duvet cover.  Washing was not an option.  Dry cleaning would set me back a small fortune and likely ruin the duvet anyway.  I was stuck.  What to do?  I had to try something.  I remembered that I had a few Eucalan On-the-Go Clothing Care wipes somewhere in the house.  I fished them out of the drawer and went to work on the stain.  Two wipes and two minutes later, the stain was gone!  Now, I can’t even tell you where it was.  There’s absolutely no sign of it.

Here’s another cool thing.  I’ve used stain wipes in the past on delicate clothes or other fabrics and they always seem to leave a shadow stain or a ring where the moisture dried or they have faded the fabric.  Have you noticed that?  So, while the stain may “disappear”, the garment isn’t exactly any better off.  That did not happen when I used my Eucalan wipes.  It just removed the stain and left my duvet cover looking brand new.

So, how does this relate to bras?  In short, the value of a quality lingerie wash can extend beyond the realm of washing your intimates.  For a few dollars spent on a high quality lingerie wash, you might just be saving yourself more than the cost of the wash.  I know it did for me.

Hope that helps,

Ella

Our First Facebook Ads

Hello Everyone,

We just wanted everyone to be on the lookout for our very first Facebook ads. They will be running this weekend starting at noon Saturday until Midnight on Sunday.  We are very excited about them and look forward to reaching some new customers and letting them know that we are out there, ready to help them.  You already know about the wonderful bras that we carry, but we need to get the word out to other ladies who need our beautiful products.  So, let us know if you see an ad.  We'd like to know the time and place and what you thought.

Thanks for your feedback,

Ella

Welcome to Pink Fox Lingerie

Hi All,

Ella here. I'm your Pink Fox, well...fox, to put it plainly. What I do here is start discussions about one of my very favorite topics - lingerie. You might ask, Ella, why is lingerie one of your favorite subjects? Well, that's a good question. Thank you for asking. I'll tell you.  I enjoy talking about lingerie because up until very recently I've found it very difficult to find any bras or lingerie that I liked which actually fit me.

See, you probably can't tell from the picture that I posted of myself, but I'm quite curvy.  Without being too forward with you, for the purpose of our discussions and to validate my credibility on the subject, I think it's important that you know I'm a 30H (yes, that's a real size). Any other 30H's out there?  Then you know what I'm talking about when I say that it's a pain to find a bra that fits.  God knows that the lingerie monsters in the mall and nearly every department store don't carry my size. And that's my point.  I finally found a place to buy lingerie!  And that's why I feel freed to talk to about bras, intimate apparel, and lingerie.

Being a curvy girl like so many of you, I feel inspired by Pink Fox Lingerie. This is a wonderful company dedicated to serving curvy women 28D - 40K.  Here on the Pink Fox posterous site you will have an opportunity to talk about issues that come up for you as a curvy woman. Got a question, you can ask it.  Have a comment, let me know.  I want to hear from you.  My goal is to build a community of women who understand what it means to be curvy.  So, let's chat.  This is our site.

Ella D. Fox.
